gpacket is a Minecraft host with a control panel we built ourselves. Players are scrubbed in Chicago. Traffic then crosses a tunnel to the machine, which adds some latency. That route is how the plans stay inexpensive, and how support stays close to the system that runs your world.

    Chicago, Illinois

    DDoS protection lives here. Players hit the scrubber. The machine that runs the world is not published as the place to attack.

  2. 02

    A tunnel, on purpose

    After Chicago, packets cross a tunnel to the game machine. That hop adds latency. We would rather say so than pretend the ping is free. The tunnel is how the price stays low.

  3. 03

    Your server

    Shared memory on a machine, or a dedicated machine of its own. Players join name.play.gpacket.com with no port to remember.

The panel

Most hosts split this into three logins. We did not.

A rented game panel, a billing site, and a ticket desk that have never met each other is the usual setup. gpacket is one account we operate: start the server, read the bill, and open a ticket without changing products.

  1. Billing

    Monthly on Stripe. Cancel from the same account that owns the server.

  2. Tickets

    Support is in the panel, next to the world you are asking about. That is the fast part.

  3. Control

    Console, files, players, backups, and schedules. Not a second dashboard with a different password.

Prices come from the live catalog. Ordering continues in the panel, which asks for a server name and sends you to Stripe.
